FAQS

GENERAL

Heritage Trail Series is made up of four 10km and 5km events across the year at beautiful rural locations that don’t normally allow running to take place.

Routes chosen for Heritage Trail Series will be mainly off-road with a mixture of gravel paths and grass fields, with the occasional road section thrown in.

Heritage Trail Series is not about serious racing chasing PBs. Routes will be challenging but will be designed on exploring the best parts of the venues we choose.

Every registrant will receive:

  • A medal (unless you choose not to in the registration system)
  • Access to the gardens after their run (worth £14.50)

All those who purchase the full series (all four events) will have parking included in their registration for all four events.

Runners completing all four events in one year will receive a special reward - the four medals will combine...

For the 10km runners and walkers over the age of 16, on day of race.

For the 5km runners and walkers over the age of 12, on day of race.

The event registration form must be completed by a person aged 18 or over.

Anyone aged 16 or under needs to be accompanied to the event by an adult who will be responsible for them.

We are afraid that due to the nature of the terrain this event will not be suitable for wheelchair users or mobility scooters.

Yes! Dogs are allowed at some of the Heritage Trail Series venues.

Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens rules:

  • We encourage visitors to bring well behaved dogs on short leads with them to enjoy the gardens.
  • Guests with extendable leads will be provided a short lead upon entry, with a £10 refundable deposit and their extendable leads will be returned after their visit.
  • We request that owners please clean up after their dog and dispose of their mess using biodegradable bags; please place in the doggie bins located in the gardens.
  • Dogs are not allowed in The Clocktower Kitchen and Leonardslee House. Guide dogs only. Dogs are welcome in the Courtyard Café and Doll’s House Museum.

Each Heritage Trail Series event will be as close to 10km and 5km as we can make it. Because the routes are off-road we cannot be as accurate as a road race course measurement.
