Entry information
What is included in my entry?
10K SPARKLING RUN ENTRY £69.50
- Everything you'd expect from a 10km trail event - water stations, medal, course marshals and a beautiful route
- Entry into Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens from 16:00 (worth £15.50)
- 4 x tastings of sparkling wine on the route
- Glass of Leonardslee English sparkling wine after the run
- Sussex hog roast with sides (vegan and vegetarian options will be available)
- Live Music and chance to enjoy a summer evening at Leonardslee when normally closed to the public
- Parking
SPECTATOR TICKET £39.50
- Entry into Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens from 16:00 (worth £15.50)

Who can take part? What are the age limits?
Runners and walkers must be over the age of 18, on day of race.
The event registration form must be completed by a person aged 18 or over.
Under 18s cannot attend Sparkling Run as a spectator or runner
Can wheelchair users or mobility scooters take part?
We are afraid that due to the nature of the terrain this event will not be suitable for wheelchair users or mobility scooters.
Can I run with my dog?
Yes you can run with one well behaved dog. Please read our rules below.
START TIME
Canicross runners will start 5mins after the main block of runners have started.
For the non-dog lovers amongst us please respect that it is not often that people can do an event with their dog.
ON THE LEAD AT ALL TIMES
Control of your dog is required at all times.
- Dog on leads at all times and keep the lead short.
- Please note: If you come with an with extendable lead you will be provided a short lead upon entry, with a £10 refundable deposit. Your extendable lead will be returned after your visit.
- At any ‘pinch points’ or busy areas on the route, PLEASE refrain from overtaking unless it is safe for you AND YOUR DOG to do so. Consider other runners BEFORE any competitiveness and rash decision making.
- If a situation occurs the owner of the dog will be held responsible.
INSURANCE
- The rightful owner of a dog is required to have liability insurance (or family insurance) for any damages that their dog may commit, or injuries that the dog may cause.
- The event will be covered by public liability insurance as standard.
- We do not accept any liability for damage caused to third party property by our competitors dogs or the competitors themselves.
- We also will not accept any liability for injury caused to third parties by our competitors or their dogs.
WELFARE
- We advise you build your dog’s distance up over several weeks/months.
- Always carry water with you just in case it is needed and suitable dog drinking vessel.
- Familiarise yourself with your dog’s normal behaviour while running, prior to the event. If at any time they show any signs they are struggling or pulling to one side, immediately find shade and stop and give them some water.
VENUE RULES
- Please clean up after your dog and dispose of their mess using biodegradable bags. Please place in the doggie bins located in the gardens.
- Dogs are not allowed in The Clocktower Kitchen and Leonardslee House. Guide dogs only. Dogs are welcome in the Courtyard Café and Doll’s House Museum.
Can I defer my entry?
Yes, you can to either another event in the series or the following year. There is an admin fee to do this of £10. Please email us: support@heritagetrailseries.zendesk.com
Can I transfer my entry to a friend?
Yes, you can. There is an admin fee to do this of £10. Please log back in to your Easol account to do this.
I can't make the event - can I get a refund?
We are sorry but we are not offering refunds.
Event day
What time does the event start?
The event will open at 4pm and the run will start at 5pm.
The event ends at 10pm.
Race packs
How do I get my race pack?
Rack packs must be collected on the day of the event. Please arrive in good time to collect.
Parking passes will be emailed to you before the event for you to print and bring with you. If you do not receive them please come to the race pack collection desks for assistance.
Spectators
Are spectators allowed at the event?
Yes absolutely. Spectator passes will need to be purchased and they can enjoy the afternoon with you including food and drink. Please see the site for what is included.
Under 18s are not permitted.
Where should my spectators go to watch me?
One of the best spots to watch is at the Engine House Cafe at around half way.
It would then be a short walk to the finish line by the lakes to cheer you through.

Anyone aged 16 or under needs to be accompanied to the event by an adult who will be responsible for them.

We are afraid that due to the nature of the terrain this event will not be suitable for wheelchair users or mobility scooters.
Can I run with my dog?
No - we cannot accept dogs at the venue at all, due to the large herds of deer.

What is included in my entry?

- Access to the gardens after their run (worth £14.50)

- Parking (2026 events only. Parking must be booked separately for winter 2025)
Do I get a discount if I enter more than one?
If you enter spring, summer and autumn/winter in 2026, we will offer you a free winter entry.

Are spectators allowed at the event?
Yes absolutely. The venues chosen for Heritage Trail Series are family and friends friendly with plenty of activities to do pre, during and post events. Spectator passes will need to be purchased.
Children under the age of ‘11’ will be free.
(Please note that the Sparkling Run event is for 18+ only, including spectators)
